Add this to your December to-do list: Quarterly Strategic Planning
Here we go…a little less than one month until the end of 2024 (factoring in the holidays and hoopla, I’d say it’s really no more than 3 weeks)! Cheers!
Did that reminder just send you into a bit of a cold sweat?
This time of year, it can feel like the most important thing to focus on is getting all of the current year’s projects done and goals accomplished, for both our clients and ourselves / our firms – checking the boxes and trying to squeeze it all in before we cross the December 31 finish line. Add in the holiday shopping and entertaining and merrymaking and…well, it’s overwhelming, no?
This might sound counterintuitive, but I’d argue that the most important thing you can do this month is to add something to your to-do list:
✅ Take the time to plan well for the coming quarter.
That’s right – in the midst of all the busy-ness, block off at least half a day to do the deep work that will give you the clarity you need to have a super-impactful, successful Q1 2025.
What to do during that time block? So glad you asked!
At a high level, you’ll want to:
(1) Get clear on what you want from your practice (we call this “picturing your PROmance” – what does it look like for you to have a practice you love, that loves you back?);
(2) Identify the gaps between that vision of your PROmance and your current reality; and
(3) Choose the ONE priority you’ll work on in the next quarter to move closer to your vision, and plan for how you’ll execute on that priority.
Of course, it’s easy for me to assign that agenda, and a bit harder to carry it out, especially if you’re working on your own! Not to worry – we’ve got your back:
📆 Members of the ADVOS Pro Path to PROmance membership will be gathering next Thursday, December 12, for a live Quarterly Strategic Planning Workshop via Zoom, and anyone who joins the Path to PROmance membership (click here for more info) by December 11 can join right in! Gwen Griggs and Sarah Stroscio and I will guide you through our proven strategic planning framework, so all you have to do is show up and follow our lead.
This work is SO important, and it’s so much easier to do when you have a framework and exercises to follow and the accountability and support of a live group – there’s magic in that recipe, that you just don’t get when you go it alone.
Add to that – the ongoing 1:1 support you get as a member of our Path to PROmance, which means you get a member of our team as your personal accountability partner and sherpa, helping ensure you make progress toward your goals, and serving up the resources you need to make it all easier than you thought possible.
As we round out 2024 and look toward 2025, my wish for you is that you’re striding confidently toward the practice of your dreams, feeling supported, well equipped, and excited about where you’re headed.
If I can do anything at all to help make that wish come true for you, I hope you’ll let me know. Really – hit me up!
To your PROmance!
